“I am an amateur street photographer. Born in Hong Kong, yet live in New York. I just happened to be visiting my girlfriend in Hong Kong, 2009, when I heard about the redevelopment project of Kwun Tong from my friend. So, I decided to visit there, and that’s what I saw. My great grandmother used to live here, but she passed away this year in New York City. I heard my great grandmother’s apartment was closed as well. Many stores are slowly closing, and some of the apartments are already closed down, and waiting for reconstruction. These old buildings that you see are probably closed down by now, so it’s only the stores that remain open, but they’ll be closed down in the future.” – Browning Lui
