Fatheat

By Arden de Raaij

Hungary has talent, mad talent! After the very talented Mr. Zero we featured earlier on, our next spam victim from Eastern Europe is Fat Heat. Fat Heat is also in the CFS crew (same as Mr. Zero) and has a mind boggling cybernetic 3D style. We’ll let the pictures and the artist do the talking. Enjoy!

“I’m painting because I want to CREATE. I just simply can’t imagine my daily routine without bringing ideas to sketches, or making sketches work on the walls.”

Where are you from, and where are you going?

I’m from a small town from Hungary. As time goes by I’m moving from smaller cities to bigger ones. I’m living right now in the capitol of Hungary (Budapest) but planning to move to London soon.

What got you into to street art and what makes you keep on doing it?

Well, in the first few years I was painting for the thrill of it. I just loved the contrast between the calmness of the surrounding train yard or environment, and what I felt inside. Oh yeah and when I first see a the fresh piece running in daylight, that’s an un-replaceable feeling.

Nowadays I’m painting because I want to CREATE. I just simply can’t imagine my daily routine without bringing ideas to sketches, or making sketches work on the walls.

What is your favorite item to take on the road with you?

My old dirty painting trouser, because behind every stain there’s a story.

Best street art spot we should check out:

Every spot is my favorite 😀 But here is the hall of fame of Budapest, called “Filatorigat”.

Do you prefer doing your work legal or illegal?

I prefer legal spots, because my actual art takes pretty much time to paint.

How much does art influence your everyday life?

Fortunately my whole life is built up on art, or around it. I make most of my money working as a graphic designer, and in the time that is left over I paint walls or canvases and I have mainly artist friends: musicians, writers, sculptors, graphic designers, lots of nice and creative people.

What was the first thing you put up on a wall?

4 letters: FEAR. I painted with the worst kind of spray-paint that you can image back in 98′. I remember that first I did the outlines than filled it up with reds and yellows. And the funny thing is that it is still up on that wall!!!

Is there any artwork you consider your best?

I’m never really satisfied with my works. The moment when I’ll be satisfied with it, would be the moment that I stop, but I’m pretty sure that won’t happen soon. 😀 Anyway what I’m most proud of are the walls that we’ve created with the Colored Effects crew.

Which artist would you like to work with in the future?

With open minded crazy graffiti writers from all around the world. For example Nychos(Rabbit Eye Movement – Austria). His attitude is always a great inspiration to me, he is like a graffiti machine.

What is your favorite movie/gaming/cartoon character?

Homer Simpson of course.

What is your favorite music/genre/artist/album?

That’s a tuff question, because I’m also producing beats and I’m listening almost all kinds of music. If I have to say only one thing or producer than I’d say: Amon Tobin. He is a goddamn’ genius.

If you could fill a swimming pool with something, what would it be?

A swimming pool full of great ideas would be nice.
