“I started out in front of the camera. Later on, I stood behind it.
As a model, I frequently participated in the process involved in a photograph: contributing with ideas, bringing in certain clothes, finding locations, posing in one way or another. But it’s the photographer who has the last word on the certain gaze, instant, composition, color or style that will be showed. The only way to imagine something and make it happen as such, is participating in all the stages and roles.
This is why I took on photography. It began as a quest for a tool with which I could experiment and create images. I’ve had the fortune of working with renowned photographers that have without doubt been an influence and an inspiration to my work in many ways. Still, I do not have any particular icons. Perhaps my interest and my regard are marked more by stages and things that I find interesting, than by other professional photographer’s styles.
To wear another style, suggest differences, show changes, bring up new ideas, exchange knowledge, interact with other professionals, generate new things… But above all, to see differently. Yes, that is my main interest. To see things differently, to see beyond…
What I do daily catalyzes new interests. I can spend hours, days, even years looking for images, textures, colors, paintings, photographs… and continue travelling and dreaming.
I hope each one of us could have this wish, as well as the possibility of choosing a path, starting a journey and enjoying each moment. It is possible to dream and we should learn to make it come true.
