More Brasil? Yes! We got in contact with Sao from Sao Paulo recently. He kinda forgot, we kinda forgot..and all of a sudden: bang! A brand new sparkling Spam! interview in the cfye inbox. Anyway, you might know Sao from the 6EIMA project (more after the click) together with Delafuente. They give an extra shine to the city in the most original way, using manholes and other parts of the streets in their art. As a solo artist, Sao is very versatile as well, his work is colorful and reminds us of a street Picasso style.

Where are you from, and where are you going?
I'm from São Paulo, Brasil, and I 'm going on the stairway to heaven when I will be dead. But now i'm preparing myself to go to Germany

What were you doing when you got these questions?
Now I'm preparing the bag for the trip.

What got you into to street art, and what makes you keep on doing it?
The liberty and I love to work with spray cans.

How long have you been doing this?
I started painting in the streets in 1996 but during 1998 to 2004 i was slow at streets, just making few things.In 2005 I came back more active.

Did you study anything in graphic design?
Yes, I worked 4 years with graphic and web design.

What is your favorite item to ta

ke on the road with you?
MP3 player.

Do you prefer doing your work legal or illegal?
Now I prefer legal because in 2002 I stayed a night in a jail, I was painting at the Railroad. But sometimes I still make illegal works.

What was the first thing you put up on a wall?
A big face.

Most dangerous spot you've painted?
This one I painted with my friend Dela. The cops caught us painting and I had to come back another day to finish it. We were writing the name of our crew: FDM

Nave Mãe, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Chase, Speto


What is your favorite movie/gaming/cartoon character?
Movie - Warriors, Game - GTA Vice City Stories, Cartoon Character - Sponge Bob

Which cartoons did you watch when you were a kid?
Tom & Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, and I used to watch japanese series like Jaspion, Changeman.

What is your favorite music/genre/artist/album?
Genre - Good music :D, Artist - Dead Kennedys, Album - Cross of the french electro duo Justice

If you could fill a swimming pool with something, what would it be?
With nothing because I don't know kow to swim... :O


Favorite city, and coolest thing about it?
São Paulo, the Barra Funda quarter, it's the coolest quarter to stay in the city

Bill (PC) or Steve (MAC)?
I use PC, because MAC is to expensive, but one day I will buy one :D


What can we expect from you in the future?
New colored works with truth and heart.
